Klaus Bondam
Mayor for the Technical and Environmental Administration, Copenhagen

Klaus Bondamwas born in 1963 on the island Bornholm and now resides in Copenhagen. He has been an active member of The Social Liberal Party since 1997 (Det Radikale Venstre) and he is also a member of the Party’s National Executive Committee. In 2001 Kalus was elected to the City Council of Copenhagen, where he was the Party Group Chairman until 2005.

At the election on the 15. of November 2005 The Social Liberal Party had a very fine election with an increase in two mandates. Since the 1. of January 2006 Klaus Bondam’s party has been represented by seven members in the City Council and on the same date he became the mayor for the Technical and Environmental Administration.

-Klaus is a member of the Copenhagen Commission of Commerce and also the Oresund Committee.
-Chairman in the Eurocities Mobility Forum.
-Chairman in the Green Council (Det Grønne Råd)
-Deputy chairman for the National AIDS Foundation

He is also a member of several additional committees and boards such as Copenhagen Capacity (works with international business localization in the Copenhagen area), and Glyptoteket, (Classical Art Gallery in Copenhagen).

Klaus was the deputy chairman for The Scandinavian Arena from feb. 2004 to oct. 2007, (an organisation that works for infrastructural and cultural cooperation between the Oresund region and the Oslo/Gothenburg region)

Director at Grønnegårds Teatret 1996-2003. Director at Folketeatret 2003 - 2005. (Two large theatres in Copenhagen.)
